VarnerLab projects
The Varner lab is exploring molecular networks related to human health. We are developing a library of network models, e.g., cell-cycle checkpoint modules, MAPK and infrastructure modules such as translation that can be taken off the shelf, and quickly integrated to form the basis of new models. We are interested in prostate and breast cancer proliferation as well as networks that control stem-cell differentiation. In addition, we have a project exploring coagulation dynamics of septic patients and are interested in understanding the molecular basis of pain. The common thread of all these projects is that we combine mathematical modeling with experimental investigation to develop a deep understanding of the critical components of signal transduction networks.
